An interesting bird nest type philodendron native to South America. Philodendron linnaei is an epiphyte, and spreads via runner. The parent plant produces leaves in a rosette pattern, occasionally sending out long runners that eventually find a spot they like, and produce a new rosette. These runners are not suckers, and are not detrimental to the health of the original plant. They can be removed or left attached according to preference. Our linnaei have thus far all had red leaf backs, though we have not been growing it terribly long, and I don't know if they will stay that way as the plant matures..
This is an easy going variety that is suitable as a house plant.
